Corrosion protection for 7 cooler coils on a refinery
By a client of ours, we are asked to think about for a solution to their problem with their coolerbundels in a bassin where internal runs cooling water and external needs to protect against Nafta (hydrocarbon) which is the corrosive file share is. This basin at the refinery has 7 cooling coils that originally consisted of 9 spools per coil. These were treated first and then with flanges in places put together in the basin. This brought a lot of extra work, and also the associated risks. We have proposed in consultation with our customer to protect it with our CP Phenolics ® 210 Red Series. This is a heat-conducting phenol heat cured coating which in a polymerization-oven after blasting and coating will be burned in the metal surface in a multilayersystem. This coating will be cross linked be causing which gives a very high chemical resistance and abbrasion resistance. For this particular project, there is a modification for electrostatic application applied. By this way of working is it possible the coil is no longer build in separate spools, but provide a complete coil which is in the basin can be hoisted. This meant for CP Phenolics e.g. also a challenge in the application of a coil with such structure, geometry and dimensions. The turnaround time for dealing with this baked phenol lacquer is thereby reduced and also the installation time on the refinery itself, creating huge savings on the costs and the risks of installation damage is also reduced. End result is a more reliable product for a lower price with a longer service life.
Or as we say in CP Phenolics: Trusted, Proven and Trusted!
